Sightseeing and Orientation in Vienna
Vienna is a city full of tradition and
history. Vienna was the home of the Hapsburg Empire for centuries
and many of the world famous composers have lived and worked
within this city.
The city is divided into 23 districts with the original city
that lay within the walls comprising the first district. The
removal of the walls resulted in the construction of the Ringstrasse,
which is now the home of the main tourist attractions in Vienna.

St Stephen's Cathedral is located in the centre of the city,
the south tower rising 137 metres high.
Visitors are able to climb the 343 steps to the tower-keeper's
room of St Stephen's for amazing views of the city.
Sigmund Freud Museum

Vienna
This museum is where the founder of psychoanalysis lived
and worked from 1891 to 1938. All of the rooms have been converted
into a museum, containing most of the original furniture.
This museum offers a animated account of Freud's life and
work.
Schönbrunn Palace
The Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most significant
cultural monuments in Austria. Opened to visitors in the 1860's,
the palace is now one of Vienna's main tourist attractions.
After the end of the monarchy the parks became an attractive
recreational area for all visitors and residents of the city.
The Palace is now on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage
Sites.
The Spanish Riding School

The Spanish Riding School was founded in 1572 and is the
last riding school in the world, which still practices dressage
in its purest form. The riders of the school train the horses
and perform in the Winter Riding School in the Imperial Palace.
Presentations of classical dressage are open to the public.
