The Pfefferschiff means the Pepper Ship
and is the most acclaimed restaurant in Salzburg. The restaurant
is located 3 kilometres north east of the centre and is set
in a pretty rectory. The wine cellar houses more than 460
different wines and 80 Schnapps. There is a sunny guest garden
for visitors under a number of old trees.
Reservations are essential at this restaurant.
Zum Mohren

The Zum Mohren is located in the old town
by the river. The restaurant is in the cellar of a 15th century
house with a statue of a Moor sitting on top of the wrought
iron sign at the entrance. A welcoming atmosphere and reasonably
priced food has made this restaurant popular with both locals
and tourists, especially during autumn and winter when fresh
game is on the menu.
Stiftskeller St Peter

This restaurant classes itself as the oldest
restaurant in Central Europe as it has been open since 803.
The Stiftskeller is situated in the inner courtyard of the
monastery of St Peter and has a collection of baroque banqueting
rooms and vaults cut from the rock. The restaurant uses wine
from the abbeys own vineyards and serves traditional Austrian
cuisine and a variety of vegetarian dishes are also offered.
Especially renowned, are the desserts such as the apple strudel.

of Salzburg's famous and trendy bars. The interior is small
and comfortable and the staff are friendly and professional.

Stiegl Keller

The Stiegl Keller in the old town of Salzburg
is connected to the Stiegl brewery. There are many beer gardens
in this pub / restaurant some are half way up the Fortress
Mountain with views over the old city. The garden above the
Stiegl serves wine and beers, while the lower garden is reserved
for people eating in the restaurant or just enjoying the peace
and quiet.
Bazillus

The Bazillus is a small bar, which is well
located next to the Salzach. The bar has a small garden offering
views over Salzburg, which is incredibly popular during the
summer.
Cave Club

The Cave Club is a small nightclub built
into the Rainberg Mountain. The club attracts well-known DJ's
on a regular basis and plays house, jungle, techno and industrial
music.

Shopping
Salzburg has two big shopping malls
located in the west of the city. The Himmelreich district
is home to the Airport Centre, opposite Salzburg's airport,
and the Euro-Park, which incorporates a leisure centre located
in the Taxham district.
The square in front of the Mirabell Palace is well known for
its market 'Schranne'. Farmers meet here once a week to sell
their produce.
