't Brugs Beertje

This bar was allegedly the inspiration for the Good Beer Guide
this bar is one of the best in Bruges. Brugs Bertie offers
over 350 beers with a particular glass for each. The bar is
located down an alley off of the main tourist streets but
is well worth a visit. However, there is not much choice for
the non-beer drinker.
Grand Café du Theatre

The Grand Café du Theatre
has a good selection of beers and spirits and plays a variety
of music from the sixties to the current date. Free snacks
are available from 6pm to 8pm.
De Versteende Nacht

This is a jazz bar and café run by Fats Waller fans.
Live jazz sessions take place regularly and the De Versteende
Nacht is a great place to relax and chat.

Shopping
Bruges is famous for its chocolate, lace
and beer, the best place to go for such traditional purchases
is the Wollestraat.
The main shopping streets are Steenstraat and Noordzandstraat
and the small streets off to the sides.
Street Markets are held in Burg Square on Wednesdays and the
Antiques and Flea Market is located beside the canal. It runs
from March to October, on Saturday and Sunday from noon to
5pm.
The fish market in Vismarkt dating from 1821 daily except
Sunday from 8am to 1pm.

Useful Information.
Taking a boat trip
on the city's charming canals is a great way to see the city.
Tours run daily from 10am to 6pm during the summer and on
weekends and holiday periods between December and February.
Bruges has only one major annual festival, the Heilig-Bloedprocessie
(the Holy Blood procession), which takes place on Ascension
Day, in which the sacred phial is paraded through the streets
by people wearing period costumes.
The Reiefest (the festival of the canals), takes place in
the final week of August every three years (2004 being the
next one).
If visiting Bruges in December the Christmas Market in the
Markt has a number of festive stalls selling gifts and mulled
wine and a temporary ice rink for skating
