Built in a former 17th century palace and located in a peaceful side street in Vilnius's old town, the Shakespeare Boutique Hotel, with its English literary theme, has 31 dramatic guestrooms, each individually decorated in rich colors and relating to a famous writers, including Milton, Hardy and Trollope. Expect plenty of oden beams and antique brick fireplaces. Rooms include satellite television, ideos, telephones and minibars; bathrooms feature heated floor tiles and telephones. Guests will be greeted by a fruit basket, bottle of mineral water and a teapot, and can even rent a laptop during their stay. Sonnets, the hotel's main restaurant, offers a different business lunch menu every day and serves traditional French cuisine in the evening in a formal atmosphere, with ruby red walls. The Globe Bar, with its gentlemen's club ambience, has deep, comfy sofas to lounge in. Nearby attractions include St. Michael's Architecture Museum, the Presidential Palace, the National Museum and Sereikiskiu Park. Frequent buses run from Vilnius Airport to the city center, and taxis are also available at the arrivals terminal. Buses and taxis are a good way to get around. Lithuanians drive on the right and a zero blood alcohol level is strictly enforced. Cycling is another good way to explore Vilnius.
