The restaurant is an old Cistercian cellar (12th century built against the 'castrum,' which was constructed by the Romans (3rd century. The hotel is wonderfully located for those wishing to explore Beaune without the need to have a car. Cellars, shops and museums are only a few hundred meters from the Abbaye de Maizieres. The rooms are charming with, for the most part, stone walls, period furnishings and French ceilings. The entire property retains a wonderful Old Burgundy atmosphere with the comfort and convenience that today's travelers have come to expect.
